{"id":1269,"date":"2016-09-05T01:08:13","date_gmt":"2016-09-05T06:08:13","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mentalhealth-online.com\/mentalhealth\/?p=1269"},"modified":"2017-02-12T16:58:25","modified_gmt":"2017-02-12T21:58:25","slug":"positive-space","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mentalhealth-online.com\/mentalhealth\/positive-space\/","title":{"rendered":"Positive Change:  Slip into a Positive Space &#8230; even on Discouraging Days!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&#8220;If only I could find a way to bounce back on trying days.&#8221;\u00c2\u00a0 Have you ever found yourself wishing this?\u00c2\u00a0 There&#8217;s so much beauty in the world &#8212; it&#8217;d be a shame to let your state of mind prevent you from enjoying it all.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s time to make a <a href=\"http:\/\/thelifecoachdr.com\/coach\/positive-thought\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\"><i>positive<\/i> change<\/a>!\u00c2\u00a0 <strong><em>Believe it or not, all the power to make that change is within you!<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Here are 3 approaches to use to help your gloomy days take a turn for the better:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Reaffirm yourself.<\/strong> Lots of things in life can leave you <a href=\"http:\/\/thelifecoachdr.com\/coach\/negative-thought\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">feeling discouraged<\/a>. But by no means is discouragement supposed to consume your existence! <strong><em>In fact, you owe it to yourself to live an inspired life.<\/em><\/strong> And one of the best ways to do that is to keep your self-image intact.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul>\n<li>Each morning, write a list of three things that you&#8217;re grateful for. Those are the things you endeavor to keep a part of your life.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>At the same time, write a list of accomplishments you&#8217;re proud of. Reflecting on your accomplishments can help boost you into a positive state of mind. Allowing yourself to smile regularly can certainly help to turn your grey skies blue.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol start=\"2\">\n<li><strong> Conquer a physical challenge.<\/strong> A lot of times, a challenging physical exploit can help you appreciate life. It also helps you to recognize your inner strengths. <strong><em>When you realize just how strong you are, it\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s easier to conquer a discouraging day.<\/em><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Take a hike with some friends. Make it the kind of hike that challenges your resolve. Your run-of-the-mill trek to the national park may be too easy.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Make a mental note of the moments you feel like giving up. Your legs are burning and your throat is completely parched. Yet, you fight through the discomfort.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>When you&#8217;ve made it to the end, take note of the feeling of exhilaration. Perhaps, you notice that you&#8217;re unable to control the ear to ear smile that comes with overcoming obstacles.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol start=\"3\">\n<li><strong>Help others.<\/strong> One of the easiest ways to change discouragement to hope is to help others in need. <strong><em>Giving less fortunate people a glimmer of hope helps you to appreciate what you have.<\/em><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>As you incorporate these activities into your life, you can begin to notice a change in your outlook.
