Tip #3: Make This Moment Count
Filed Under Emotional Healing, Mental Healing, Physical Healing, Spiritual Healing
This is Dr. Marlene Shiple, sending you Tip #3.
How did you do with Tip #2? As a reminder, it is: Let Your Breathing Benefit You! What did you notice when you experimented with taking breathing breaks? What happened in your body? What occurred in your emotions?
This information brings us to this Tip #3: Make This Moment Count. In life, the only time that any of us has is THIS ONE, right now! The only time that exists is now.
The past is over … you cannot change it. You cannot change the events that have occurred in the past. At the same time, the future has not yet arrived. So, you cannot alter events that have not yet come to be.
This leaves you with the present. This moment — here and now — is the only one that you can effect. By how you choose to think in this moment, you influence your feelings and, ultimately, your actions … in this present moment.
So, what do you think would happen if you asked yourself the question — How could I allow this moment to be better? … and, then, proceeded to do JUST THAT! However you answered that question, what if you acted on the situation in that way? What do you think would occur?
For example, let’s say that you asked yourself the question, “How could I allow this moment to be better?” And, then, you answered, “I could relax and breathe and give thanks for the blessings of this time.”
Then, what if you DID just that? What if you relaxed? What if you started taking a series of progressively slower and deeper breaths? What if, at the same time, you gave thanks for the blessings of health and eyesight and hearing and feeling and loving and experiencing joy?
By doing this, because you are focused on blessings, you experience those blessings stronger and deeper. Since what you focus on is increased, you also begin to enjoy MORE blessings!
Go ahead, give it a try! Notice what occurs in your life when you do so. I would appreciate hearing back from you what you discover when you do this. Would you take just a little time and email me about your experience(s)?
