Stress is all around — Traffic! Pollution! People in a hurry — hustle, bustle! Pressure at home! Pressure at work! Pressure abounds!
Stress is a common factor in most peoples’ lives. However, it is important to take care not to let stress manage YOU. If you allow your tension to get out of control, it can begin to influence your health and wellness. Here are three (3) solid suggestions to help you keep stress from managing your life.
1. Relaxation:Â Relax your jaw and give up grinding your teeth (if you do so). A clenched jaw can be one of the initial signs that your body feels it is under siege from anxiety. When you are stressed, contact your jaw, clench briefly, breathe gradually in, then, as you slowly breathe out, let your jaw relax. Doing this exercise should assist you feel better swiftly.
2. Positive Thinking: Everybody can benefit from holding positive thoughts. Develop your very own by creating a favorable, brief expression called an affirmation. Use this affirmation daily. When you feel overloaded, repeat your affirmation. This provides you with confidence and strength to handle the situation at hand. Tell yourself to feel what you are feeling and do it anyway, that you are confident of success, or any other message that helps you feel more powerful and more in control.
3. Aromatherapy:Â Calming aromas can melt anxiety away. Smelling basil, oils of anise, chamomile, bay, eucalyptus, jasmine, increased, thyme, and peppermint can all be comforting. All you need to do is place some rock salt and a few drops of oil in a vial/bottle. Whenever stress begins to overtake you, just smell one of your favorite scents.
